Frequently Asked Questions

Current answers about donor registration, login, availability, search filters, the 90-day timer, Gallery and data control.

?
Is Hamro Rakta Sanjal a hospital or blood bank?

No. It is a free donor-connection platform. Blood collection, testing, compatibility confirmation and transfusion must be completed through an authorised hospital or blood bank.

How do donor login and registration work?

Use the Donor Login / Register button. A new donor verifies a Nepal mobile number with OTP, creates a password and completes the donor profile. An existing donor can later log in using the registered mobile number and password.

What information is required to become a donor?

The profile requires a name, date of birth in Bikram Sambat, verified mobile number, blood group, gender, province, district, exact local level and daily availability. Age is calculated automatically from the BS date of birth. Email, alternative phone number and ward number are optional.

What is the difference between 16-hour and 24-hour availability?

The 16-hour option shows the donor in matching searches daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM Nepal time. The 24-hour option allows the profile to appear throughout the day. These are repeating schedules, not countdowns.

What do Available, Not Available and Already Donated mean?

Available permits the profile to appear during the selected daily hours. Not Available saves the profile but hides it from search. Already Donated hides the profile and starts the platform’s 90-day countdown from the selected donation date.

How does the 90-day Already Donated timer work?

The dashboard displays the remaining days, hours, minutes and seconds. During the countdown the donor remains hidden and cannot manually select Available. When the timer ends, the platform returns the status to Available. Medical staff must still confirm eligibility before donation.

Why is a province, district or municipality missing from the donor finder?

The finder only shows locations that currently contain a matching donor marked Available and within the donor’s daily time window. Empty locations are intentionally hidden.

Is the ward filter required?

No. Ward selection is optional. Choose All Available Wards to view every matching donor in the selected local level, including donors who did not provide a ward number.

Can donors edit or delete their information?

Yes. Logged-in donors can update personal details, location, blood group, availability and current donor status. They can also change the password or delete public donor details.

How does the Gallery work?

Published Gallery photos appear on the Gallery page. Selecting a photo opens the full-size lightbox. If JavaScript is unavailable, the image link still opens the original image directly.

Who can see donor contact information?

Matching search users can open the donor details provided for public contact. Optional email, alternative phone and ward information appear only when the donor has supplied them.

What should I do in an urgent blood emergency?

Use the donor finder, contact matching donors respectfully and immediately coordinate with an authorised hospital or blood bank. Hamro Rakta Sanjal is not an ambulance or emergency-dispatch service.
